Former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has revealed one particular side of the club’s former manager Sir Alex Ferguson that many people may not have known about before. The defender was signed for United by Sir Alex during the legendary manager’s historic reign at Old Trafford and he was part of the success story that the club’s former Scottish manager wrote at the club.

Sir Alex is considered to be one of the greatest managers of all-time in the world of football for his achievements during his managerial career at Manchester United and there is enough reason to believe those claims, especially given the fact that he singlehandedly took the club to greater heights. He arrived at a time when Liverpool were the best side in the league and made a promise that he was there to get the Reds off their perch.

He did fulfill his promise and before leaving the club, he made sure he won more trophies than Liverpool in his career.

Evans was a part of the United team for a while but did not make his debut under Sir Alex until a few yearsafter his recruitment. However, he was not able to convince the ex-manager’s successors David Moyes and Louis van Gaal that he was good enough to remain in the team. He was then sold in the summer transfer window of 2015 to West Bromwich Albion where he had some stints before joining Leicester City; his current club.

The defender has now revealed that during his time at United under Sir Alex, the former manager would always talk about certain players before the club would play any big match. He said Sir Alex always loved to speak about focus and concentration, and also used to speak a lot about his former captains that he managed, and he was impressed with.

During his time at Old Trafford, Evans was a part of the United squad that won the Premier League title on three occasions, the UEFA Champions League title, and two League Cup titles.
